• Supports roles such as support staff, teaching assistants and facilities management and new roles such as cover supervision and welfare and pastoral support
• Reflects the increasing contribution made by support staff to inclusion and working with pupils with additional needs, personalised learning and wider life of school
• Adds support for progression and transfer across the children’s workforce within schools
• Includes some imported units and newly developed National Occupational Standards (NOS) to reflect the necessary support for literacy support for literacy and numeracy and for bilingual pupil
